Quick Installation WebSphere Portal V5 and Portlet

This article on how to install IBM ® WebSphere ® Portal V5.0 (with a robust database (IBM DB2 ® V8.1), with extended security, the use of LDAP directory (IBM Directory ServerV5.1), running in a single Windows Nodes). Software inventory
You will need the following products in this document to complete all the tasks:
* Microsoft ® Windows 2000 Server or Professional, with Service Pack 2 or 3
* IBM DB2 V8.1, with Fixpack 1 (hereinafter referred to as DB2)
* IBM Directory Server V5.1 (hereinafter referred to as Directory Server)
* IBM WebSphere Portal V5.0 (hereinafter referred to as WebSphere Portal), which includes WebSphere Application Server (hereinafter referred to as Application Server)
* IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.01 (hereinafter referred to as Application Developer)

Hardware list
Below you'll need the hardware configuration.
Store
Physical Memory: 1024MB or higher allocation
Disk space requirements are the following estimates:
WebSphere Portal, including Application Server 2.2 GB
DB2 285 MB
Directory Server 216 MB
Application Developer 3.0 GB
Port binding
WebSphere Portal and related applications will need the following ports:
* 443 (standard HTTPS port)
* 523 (DB2 Administration Server)
* 8008 (IBM HTTP Server Administration port)
* 50000 (DB2 example of connecting port)
* 50001 (DB2 examples of disruption port)
* 50002 (DB2 Control Server)
* 55555 (WAS database port)
To check the availability of ports, you can use the netstat command. At the command prompt, type: netstat. Column in a local address, the fifth number is the port number. For example, in the No. 0.0.0.0:80, port number is 80.
Access
Windows users to use local id to set up this environment. Windows users id in the local administrators group, and the distribution rights to the following account:
* As part of the operating system
* Access to the system as a service
The database administrator, has the following additional authority to use the account:
* Local definition
* Belonging to the local administrators group
* To create a token target
* To increase quotas
* To replace the token-level processes

Install and configure
To install and configure the environment, you need to complete the following tasks:
1. Installation of DB2.
2. Installation Directory Server.
3. Installation of WebSphere Portal.
4. Configure WebSphere Portal for DB2.
5. Configure WebSphere Portal for Directory Server.
6. Settings for portlet development of the Application Developer
Each task should follow the following steps:
Installation of DB2 8.1
According to documents provided to DB2 to install DB2 and the fixpack.
Important: WebSphere Portal does not use OLAP Starter Kit, therefore, do not install OLAP Starter Kit.
1. Install DB2 8.1.
2. Install DB2 8.1 Fixpack 1.
Installation of IBM Directory Server 5.1
Because WebSphere Portal installation does not include the LDAP server, so you need to install the LDAP server.
1. IDS 5.1 Insert the CD, into the installation directory.
2. Double-click \ IDS51 \ ids_ismp \ setup.exe.
3. Select Typical.
4. Default choice for the installation components:
1. Client SDK
2. Web Admin 5.1
3. Server 5.1
5. Enter DB2 administrator user id and password (for access to DB2 system).
6. After the installation, restart the system. LDAP server Directory Configuration management tool is activated. If you do not see Tools, select Start -> Programs -> IBM Directory Server 5.1 -> Directory Configuration.
Configuration directory server
If you're with the following configuration on the other help, select Start -> Programs -> IBM Directory Server 5.1 -> Getting Started.
1. Click Administrator DN / password. Authentication administrator proprietary name and password. You will enter the tools used to create Web Admin server, the administrator will use proprietary name and password.
2. Click Configure Database. If this is the first installation of Directory Server, then choose to create a new LDAP database, and set user id and password to access the database examples. If the database already exists, you can reconfigure it.
3. Click the Manage Suffixes. LDIF in the import documents before any need to add the prefix.
4. Click Import LDIF data. And select a specific location in your environment LDIF file, then select Import. LDIF file will be added to the entry in the LDAP. If you do not have LDIF file, you can skip this step.
5. Close Directory Configuration tool.
6. By typing: <IDS_ROOT> \ appsrv \ bin \ startserver server1, from the command prompt start Directory Server WebAdmin server.
7. Through the Web browser to open this URL: http://localhost:9082/IDSWebApp/IDSjsp/Login.jsp, Open Directory Management tool.
8. The use of user id: superadmin, Password: secret, access to the system. On your access to the system, you can change this user id and password.
9. Console Administration, click Manage console servers.
10. Add localhost: as a server. Tip: You can specify the server IP address and host name to replace localhost: (If you wish to do so).
11. If you want to configure SSL, then check SSL.
12. Withdraw from the system, re-entry system (using your LDAP hostname configuration for the server). Use your settings in the installation of the user id and password (see above step 2).

13. Clic
k on Directory Management, and then click Manage entries. You can see your Directory Configuration tool set with the suffix entry.
Installation of WebSphere Portal V5.0
To install WebSphere Portal, please follow the following steps:
1. Insert WebSphere Portal for Multiplatforms Version 5.0 CD, or go to the installation directory.
2. Double-click \ WP50MP \ cdSetup \ install.bat.
3. Choose the default settings.
4. Will WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server is set to run as services.
5. Click Next to install the product. The installation process takes at least two hours.
Configuration WebSphere Portal for DB2 8.1
WebSphere Portal default to the Cloudscape database. To replace the use of DB2, you need to specifically targeting it.
To use the remote DB2 server, you must manually create a database for WebSphere Portal. Please refer to WebSphere Portal InfoCenter in Creating databases and users for DB2 theme.
To use the local DB2 server, please follow the steps below to create the necessary databases:
1. At the command prompt, the current directory will be changed to: [WPS_ROOT] \ config
2. By running the following order: wpsconfig database-transfer-export, export the current database data.
3. In order to correctly changed to [WPS_ROOT] \ config \ wpconfig.properties document, please refer to WebSphere Portal InfoCenter in Configuring WebSphere Portal for DB2 theme.
4. Id to ensure that users have the right to create the database. Then run the following command to create a database: wpsconfig create-local-database-db2.
5. To create a good database, enter the following order to implement the allocation of tasks: wpsconfig database-transfer-import. This configuration takes about 30 minutes.
6. Import database tables, a reorg checks to improve performance. Connected to each according to DB2 database and tips run the following commands:
reorgchk update statistics on table all
terminate
db2rbind [database_name]-l db2rbind.out-u [admin]-p [password]
7. Start the server: startServer WebSphere_Portal.
Configuration WebSphere Portal for IDS 5.1
For use with WebSphere Portal and the IBM Directory Server, you must pass the following steps to configure the portal environment:
1. In order to correctly changed to [WPS_ROOT] \ config \ wpconfig.properties document, please refer to the WebSphere Portal InfoCenter Configuring WebSphere Portal for IBM Directory Server theme.
2. Use the following order, and stop the server server1 and WebSphere_Portal:
WAS_ROOT \ bin \ stopServer server1
WAS_ROOT \ bin \ stopServer WebSphere_Portal
3. Enter the following command to the implementation of appropriate allocation of tasks: wpsconfig validate-ldap.
4. If you have WebSphere Portal Application Server as part of the installation, enter the following order: wpsconfig enable-security-ldap.
5. To stop, then restart the server:
stopServer WebSphere_Portal? user wpsbind? password wpsbind
stopServer server1? user wpsbind? password wpsbind
startServer server1
startServer WebSphere_Portal
Portlet development set for the Application Developer 5.0.1
Application Developer provides a development environment, can be used to create a portlet applications, and through them deployed to the WebSphere Portal Test environment in which to test.
To set up such a portlet development environment, please observe the following steps:
1 From the WebSphere Application Developer 5.0 CD install Application Developer 5.0.
2. Activated Application Developer. Through the use of Help -> Software Updates -> New Updates to upgrade to Application Developer 5.01.
3. Application Server 5.0 to run Application Server 5.0.1 upgrade to the operation, please refer to Help -> Software Updates -> Update Manager.
* Start Sites to Visit.
* Launched IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer Fixes.
* Launched Version 5.0 fixes.
* Click Application Server Fixpacks 5.0.1.
* Select More Infoin the resulting window and follow the instructions.
4. Double-click [Application Developer_ROOT] \ runtimes \ base_v5 \ ptf \ wteInstall.bat.
5. Install Application Server 5 interim fixes:
* Copy \ WP50MP \ CD1-6 to [Application Developer_ROOT] \ runtimes \ base_v5 the fixes directory.
* Operation [Application Developer_ROOT] \ runtimes \ base_v5 \ fixes \ updateWizard.bat.
* Select Specify product information, and specify [Application Developer_ROOT] \ runtimes \ base_v5.
* Select Install fixes.
* Select PQ73644, PQ76567, WAS_Dynacache_05-08-2003_5.0.1_cumulative_fix and WAS_CM_08-12-2003_5.0.2-5.0.1_cumulative_Fix.
6. From the \ WP50MP \ cdSetup \ PortalToolkit Portal Toolkit start the installation process. or, from http://www.ibm.com/websphere/portal/toolkit/ download the latest version of the kit, and then start the installation process.
7. Option Portal ToolKit, to complete the installation.
8 and then restart the server, select WebSphere Portal 5.0 Test Environment, to complete its installation. For WebSphere Portal 5 installation process, specify \ WP50MP \ CD 2 \ wps \ install.bat.
Tip: You can step in the installation of the kits and testing environment, however, if it is in the same machine, the installation will fail, because not enough resources available.
9. Activated Application Developer. Whether the system prompts you to open the Update Manager, click Yes. Showed the changes, and then click Finish.
10. Restart Application Developer.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter problems during installa
tion, use the control panel (Control Panel) in the Add / Remove Programs (Add / Remove Programs) to uninstall the software. Below are the re-installation when you should follow the tips:
1. Check the registry (Start -> Run -> regedit), track and lose the installation. Search try to install the directory. For example, in this case WebSphere Portal Test Environment installation fails, the search Application Developer_ROOT \ runtimes \ portal_v50.
2. Does not require the installation folder.
3. Check whether the entry from the C: \ WINNT \ vpd.properties documents removed. If the entry exist, rename the file.
